- Blu-ray / DVD Art and Specs: The New Daughter -
Anchor Bay's little seen or talked about Kevin Costner spooker, Luis Berdejo's The New Daughter, will be hitting DVD and Blu-ray on May 18th and we've got a look at the cover art and more!
The New Daughter follows the James family, as John (Costner, Dances With Wolves, Mr. Brooks) tries to rebuild his family after a painful divorce. John has his hands full raising his youngest child Sam (Griffith, Couples Retreat) and especially his adolescent daughter Louisa (Baquero, Pan’s Labyrinth, in her first English-speaking role).
As Louisa’s troubling behavior continues, far beyond the average tween angst and frustrations, John begins doubting his parental abilities. But when events around the James household start taking on an increasingly mysterious nature, John realizes that his family may be in mortal danger. Co-starring Samantha Mathis (The Punisher, The American President), The New Daughter is adapted by John Travis (The Haunting of Molly Hartley) from the short story by John Connolly.
Bonus features on both the DVD and Blu-ray™ include:
Special Features
- Audio commentary by Director Luis Berdejo
- The New Daughter: Behind The Scenes featurette
- Theatrical trailer

Handle all of life's challenges in the Dread Central forums! - New Gore Drenched Images from Namco's Splatterhouse -
Before Resident Evil ... before Alone in the Dark ... before, hell, Ghouls’ N Ghosts and just about everything else ... there was Splatterhouse -- the original bloodcurdling epic video game featuring a hockey-masked killer with a bigass 2x4 that took the Turbografx 16 and Sega Genesis by storm. Namco just sent over some new screenshots of its upcoming redux of the popular horror game from back in the day, and wow, they look pretty damned sweet and pretty damned violent! Bless you, Namco. Bless you!
Though we still don't have a firm date yet (Gamestop has it listed as September 1st), we do know that the game entails the now skull-masked Rick returning to a veritable splatterhouse of horrors to save his beloved Jennifer from all kinds of evil. Really? That's all the storyline we need!

A new clip for Anchor Bay's After.Life has hit online, and if we do say so ourselves, it is pretty damned unsettling. That's a very good thing!

Synopsis
After a horrific car accident, Anna (Christina Ricci) wakes up to find the local funeral director Eliot Deacon (Liam Neeson) preparing her body for her funeral. Confused, terrified, and feeling still very much alive, Anna doesn’t believe she’s dead, despite the funeral director's reassurances that she is merely in transition to the afterlife. Eliot convinces her he has the ability to communicate with the dead and is the only one who can help her. Trapped inside the funeral home, with nobody to turn to except Eliot, Anna is forced to face her deepest fears and accept her own death. But Anna's grief-stricken boyfriend Paul (Justin Long) still can't shake the nagging suspicion that Eliot isn’t what he appears to be. As the funeral nears, Paul gets closer to unlocking the disturbing truth, but it could be too late; Anna may have already begun to cross over to the other side.
